If your treatments for macular degeneration is surgery, there are some things that you should consider. In order for the retina to heal properly, you may be required to remain in a certain position in order for blood and air to flow correctly through the eye. This may require you to extend your hospital stay, especially if there are complications. Often times, additional laser surgeries are required after the initial one, as the doctor examines the effects of the first surgery. This is a normal occurrence and should not cause major worry for this sort of macular degeneration treatment. You should expect to be in the healing process for up to six weeks following the surgery.
